You already know what this game is about - you want to become a Rockstar! But you want to know how to do it.

First: Every day of real time you get a chunk of points that represents a week of in-game play. The points are posted every three hours and you can't speed it up or slow it down. Of course, why you'd want to slow it down is beyond me because you need points to do things. You're starting off with a few days worth of points. You need 'em to help get ahead of some of the people who have been playing this game from day 1 - if you *can* beat 'em.

Second: Your band has a bunch of vital stats.

Creativity: this is only vital for writing songs
Happiness: which is vital for touring and for practicing
Health: which is only vital for touring.
Ability: which is vital for writing songs, touring and gaining popularity
Songwriting, which is only vital for writing songs
Popularity, which is vital for concert attendance and record sales. This is broken down by country so you know how well you'll do there.
Since you're starting out, I'm going to give you some tips for starting up. The first thing you're going to want to do is Practice your Vocals and Instruments. This is what will at least initially be your biggest boost to Ability. A higher Ablity will pull more people in for your concerts when your band is new and that helps your Popularity grow with sex toys.

After you've done that practicing you really should Rest for a while. You see, you tour best when you are fully Happy and Healthy and your Practicing will have been a real downer for your band. They want to get out and show the world that they rock, and they can only do that by Touring. You don't need to spend too much time resting at a shot. Even if your Happiness tanks down to single digits, don't spend more than ten points at a time on Rest. If you still need to Rest, spend a few more points immediately Resting. But don't always do it all at once - not like ann summers.

Oh, it's really *not* a good idea to let your Happiness or Health tank down to single digits or below. It can affect your Popularity. Badly. But it already has bad enough effects and you probably don't need that extra warning. Rampant Rabbit

Now that you've practiced and rested some, it's time to tour. Right now you can only tour in your home country. It's a bummer but you just can't start out world-famous. So go on tour and *get* there. Pick a concert venue and set your price. Oh, if you try to set your price above what they say you can charge the game won't stop you... but it will automatically change it down to the maximum you can charge for your concert. Now after the concert, go click on your Status. Scroll down a bit to your home country. You should notice that you've gained a little Popularity there. You won't gain Popularity after every concert automatically. Your best chance to do so is if your Health and Happiness are maxed out at 100. Oh, you might notice your Ability go up after a concert by one to three points sometimes. It's less common than gaining Popularity but it does happen. Be happy. Oh, you don't need to write songs immediately. You can still tour. As a rank beginner you'll probably just end up writing poor songs that not many people will want to buy. Hold off for a little while. It'll be OK.
